PERSONAL · A THIRD FIELD PRACTICE
The Council of Honor.
For a milestone, retirement or living tribute. Give people time to name the stories, gratitude and everyday gifts that deserve to be heard.
Ask about your gatheringA LITTLE FURTHER INTO THE CONVERSATION
More than the role they have held.
The Director shapes the invitations around the honoree’s wishes. The stories and appreciations come from the people whose lives have been touched by theirs.
- Which ordinary act or lasting contribution would you most like to thank this person for, in your own words?
- Which stories does the honoree want shared, and what should remain private?
- What would you like to ask them about who they are now, beyond the role they have held?
What may stay with you
A personalized keepsake gathers the memories and appreciation people choose to share. Its form and contents are agreed for the occasion, so the words can be returned to long after the gathering.
What this
makes room for.
A Director prepares the pace and sequence around the honoree and the people gathering: room for a story, a thank-you, a question and the time to hear the answer. Each person chooses what to share.
Your scope, made clear.
Personal Councils gather up to eight, and start at $3,200 for up to four guests and $6,800 for 6–8. Other sizes are quoted individually, and larger groups are arranged by proposal.
Your Council includes a personalized artifact of memories and appreciation. Its form, permitted contributions and delivery are confirmed in your proposal, alongside preparation, live support and hospitality arrangements.

Before you gather.
What occasions suit a Council of Honor?
A milestone, retirement or living tribute can be a reason to gather. The Director shapes the occasion around the honoree and the people whose stories and gratitude give it meaning.
Can people contribute without speaking publicly?
Yes. Tell the Director how you would like to contribute. The format and use of your words are agreed with you before the gathering.
Is this an archive of someone’s life?
It is a keepsake of this gathering: the memories and appreciation people choose to contribute. A complete biography or family archive would be a different undertaking.
